Campus & Facilities

  • Residential facilities

Clean accommodation is available for students. Every classroom has separate study desks and a quiet environment for study is ensured.

  • Rich library & lab

There is a subject-based library for research and information, and a modern computer lab for learning Arabic and English.

  • Amali tracker & supervision

A special “amali tracker”, or record book, is used for the improvement of students’ daily worship and practice. Under the teachers’ supervision, students keep account of their spiritual and academic progress through it.

  • Spiritual environment

An environment of spiritual purification is ensured on the campus through the five daily prayers in congregation and the regular practice of recitation and the recommended deeds.

Campus Life

Campus life at the As-Sunnah Institute is lively, nurturing students’ intellect and character within an ideal Islamic environment. Regular activities include:

  • Intellectual discussions

Regular lectures, panel discussions and debate competitions build students’ confidence and reasoned presentation, so they can set out Islam’s position on contemporary questions with strength.

  • Seminars & workshops

Regular seminars with distinguished ulama, academics and thinkers from home and abroad introduce students to new horizons of the practical and intellectual world.

  • Reading circles

Beyond the set curriculum, regular group study over chosen subjects and important books builds the habit of constructive reading and analysis.

  • Fieldwork & dawah experience

Teaching is not only theoretical: students are trained hands-on in the field. One week-long major fieldwork programme has been run successfully so far, teaching students the practical work of carrying the message of the deen to ordinary people.

  • Physical exercise

Monthly indoor and outdoor games keep the students healthy, and an annual study tour is arranged.

  • Leadership & skill development

By giving students the real responsibility of organising events, their leadership and organisational skills are sharpened — observed closely by teachers and rewarded on the basis of immediate feedback.
